2.0T FSI Stage III Components
This page focuses on the items that are included with the 2.0T FSI Transverse Stage III. Because this kit is so extensive, it would be impossible to highlight all of the items that are included with it. The APR 2.0T Stage III kit includes ALL components needed (except a catback exhaust, oil, and coolant) to take a car to 382hp/332lb-ft.
Component Hightlights

APR Stage III Intake
The APR kit starts with a Carbonio derived carbon fiber intake which takes air in from the fenderwell of the car. This helps the car by allowing the engine to continuously have a fresh supply of cold intake air.
APR MAF Housing
Since the stock FSI MAF is integrated into the factory airbox, APR developed a new housing that is sized according to engine displacement and maximum power output. The new cast housing allows the proper metering of the additional airflow and to minimize pressure losses. The cast aluminum housing is CNC machined to exacting tolerances and powder-coated to inhibit corrosion. A honeycomb style flow straightener is also added to prevent the MAF from seeing erroneous signals.
APR Turbo Compressor Inlet Hose
APR uses a reinforced silicone hose to route the inlet air from the MAF housing into the compressor inlet of the turbocharger. This hose also has provisions for other connections, such as the stock crankcase vent hoses and the APR diverter valve adaptor.
APR Diverter Valve Adaptor
APR includes a billet CNC adaptor that allows the stock diverter valve to be reused with the APR compressor inlet hose.
Honeywell/Garrett Turbocharger
Representing the latest in turbocharger technology, a Garrett GT2871R Ballistic series turbocharger is the only choice for this premium turbocharger system. APR is unique in that we deal directly with Garrett turbochargers rather than buying turbochargers through turbocharger supply houses. Our engineering-house distributor status with Garrett turbochargers means that we receive assistance from the manufacturer on technical issues and work with Garrett engineers on specifying the optimal turbocharger for each application.
APR Oil/Coolant Lines
All APR oil and coolant feed and drain lines for the turbocharger are made to higher than OEM standards. As an example, the oil drain line (pictured) includes a braided stainless line with pressure crimped fittings, billet adaptors for the turbo and oil pan, new OEM gaskets, and stainless hardware.
APR Compressor Outlet Hose
This silicone hose directs air from the compressor outlet of the turbocharger to the cast APR compressor outlet pipe. The APR diverter valve adaptor also connects to this hose, as well a boost signal line for the N75 boost control valve.
APR Compressor Outlet Pipe
Also known by some as a "pancake pipe", this cast piece bolts to the passenger side of the engine and transfers pressurized air from the turbocharger compressor outlet hose to the intercooler inlet hose.
APR Intercooler
Keeping low intake charge temparatures is essential to maintaining powerful and safe operation of the APR Stage III kit. The APR FSI Intercooler is a perfect OEM intercooler replacement with an intercooler core size almost three times the size of the original unit. This intercooler is so efficent, that it performs incredibly even in the constant acceleration seen on a road course. For more information about the intercooler, see the APR FSI Intercooler page.
APR High Pressure FSI Fuel Pump
The stock high pressure pump is incapable of pumping a high enough volume of fuel to support the FSI engine with even moderate mods, much less a large turbo kit. To rectify this, APR has developed a higher flowing fuel pump that eliminates this being a problem. For more information about this pump, see the FSI Fuel Pump page.
APR FSI Fuel Injectors
APR spent many hard hours taking FSI injectors (which already flow more than the stock ones) and then developing a process to modify them to flow even more.
APR Exhaust Manifold
The Stage III exhaust manifold is investment cast out of Inconel, a high-temperature nickel alloy. The manifold was designed in CAD and optimized using computational fluid dynamics (CFD) software. What this means to the end user is the ultimate in performance and reliability.
APR Cast Exhaust Downturn
After the exhaust gases have left the turbocharger turbine, they flow into this stainless steel piece that directs the exhaust gases down, towards the underside of the car into the supplied exhaust downpipe.
